Frances Pollock is an award-winning opera composer, producer, and cultural strategist redefining what artistic leadership looks like in the 21st century. Her operas and music-theater works have been presented by leading institutions including the San Francisco Symphony, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Opera Omaha, Aspen Music Festival, PROTOTYPE Festival, Chautauqua Opera, and more—marking her as one of the most dynamic voices shaping contemporary American opera.


A newly minted Doctor of Musical Arts from the Yale School of Music, Frances pairs artistic excellence with structural innovation. She co-founded Midnight Oil Collective and helped launch the Cultural Innovation Lab at Yale, pioneering new economic models that empower artists to own, develop, and scale their work. She collaborates with Yale Ventures and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development to position Connecticut as a national hub for cultural R&D.
