KATJA LECLERC

Chief Dramaturg, Staatstheater Wiesbaden


Katja Leclerc, born in 1982 in Frankfurt am Main, will assume the role of Chief Dramaturg for Music Theater and Concert under the new Hartmann/Heine directorship at Staatstheater Wiesbaden in the 2024/25 season. From 2021 to 2023, she served as a dramaturg at the Bavarian State Opera, and prior to that, she held the position of dramaturg for opera and concert at Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Earlier in her career, from 2011 to 2012, she directed the Junge Oper Hannover and worked as a dramaturg at the Hanover State Opera. Leclerc also collaborated with the Schwetzingen SWR Festival from 2009 to 2016, supporting its music theater productions. Additionally, in 2009 and 2010, she delivered introductory lectures at the Bayreuth Festival. She holds a degree in theater, film, and media studies, as well as English and musicology, from Frankfurt am Main and Aberystwyth, Wales, and previously worked as a research assistant to Hans-Thies Lehmann at the Chair of Theater Studies.
